Oscar here. If youre anything like me, every day, you wake up and try to be nice. You aim to not piss anyone off, or annoy excessive amounts of people. You try to smile at everyone and be as friendly as possible, but its not always easy. People can get annoying. Or difficult. Or even unbearable. So you grin and bear it, trying to be as good as you can. Considering that most people probably operate on this general spectrum, its always a mixed bag about how any given day will go.
Every now and again however, youre reminded that there is actually a lot of good in this world. Just last week, I heard one such story that warmed the cockles of my sometimes not so warm heart. Dr. S. received a nondescript letter in the mail. He unfolded the letter and out dropped three, hundred dollar bills. Upon reading the letter, he learned that the letter and accompanying cash, came from a man who had visited the PPAC 17 years ago for two visits to treat various ailments that afflicted his dog at the time. He explained that back then, he had been a hard up student, and had stiffed the bill.
Well, lo and behold, 17 years later, he now has the funds to pay off the bill and settle his debt. In conclusion, he added that he remembered what a positive experience hed had with Dr. S. and how much he appreciated all that had been done for him and his pet.
I know—how touching. If youre sitting there wiping away a tear from your eye, youre not alone.
So for once, Im going to leave you without any snarky summary and simply with this happy, uplifting note that there is good in humanity.
Til next time,
