I don't know about you guys but my humans are kind of freaked out about what's happening in the world right now. Everything feels kind of scary and uncertain and no one knows what is going to happen next.
So on behalf of PPAC, we want to do our part. Which is why I'm here to keep you up to date on a few important pieces of information regarding Covid-19 and the animal world. First and most importantly foremost, the health and safety of you and your pets are our greatest concern. That's why we are staying open for business (until there comes a time when we absolutely cannot) in order to continue caring for our beloved furry friends. If for any reason, you have concerns about coming into our office, let us know in advance and we can come and retrieve your pet from in front of the office.
We also wanted to share information from the American Veterinary Medical Association or AVMA about best practices for COVID-19 and interactions with your pet. For the most up to date information on the situation, you can check on the AVMA site. However, they recommend:
"Out of an abundance of caution, it is recommended that those ill with COVID-19 limit contact with animals until more information is known about the virus. Have another member of your household take care of walking, feeding, and playing with your pet. If you have a service animal or you must care for your pet, then wear a facemask; don’t share food, kiss, or hug them; and wash your hands before and after any contact with them."
And if you have any other questions or concerns about the situation, please don't hesitate to reach out to the PPAC for all your animal related concerns.
Til' next time,
