In light of everything that's happening with our administration, the story I'm about to share shouldn't have surprised me as much as it did. But I live in a world filled with friendly cats, unicorns and lollipops, so In my mind things like this don't happen. But based on recent events, apparently, they do.
Last week, a cat came into the PPAC with a hole—I kid you not, a hole—gouged out of its skin. Apparently, the cat is an outdoor one (the likes of which I will never understand being an indoor cat and all). To accommodate his easy comings and going, there was an easy way both into and out of the kitty's home .
Well, another outdoor cat, decided to trespass into said kitty's home, and take up a fight with the first cat on its own turf. Now, as an outdoor cat, he was hardened and able to fend for himself. But nonetheless, based on the hole in his neck, the other cat won in this sad but true case of cat on cat crime.
Luckily, Dr. S. cleaned up the wound, put him on some antibiotics and he's on the mend. But scary times nonetheless where a cat's not even safe in his own home.
Be careful out there.
Til' next time,
